If you have a dental appointment scheduled between September 11 and mid-October, here is what you need to know about getting to Downtown Dental Associates during the I-5 southbound closure.
What’s Happening
Starting September 11, 2026, I-5 southbound will be closed between I-405 and I-84 for up to five weeks. ODOT crews will be completing structural repairs, bridge joint replacements, and repaving along the Rose Quarter stretch. The closure runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is expected to last through around October 16.
ODOT is warning that travel times may be two to three times longer than normal, with backups potentially stretching into Washington state.
How to Get to Us
We are still open and easy to reach with a little extra planning.
Recommended detours:
- Southbound I-5 traffic will be directed to I-405 southbound
- Regional traffic is advised to use I-205
- One lane will remain open from the I-405 junction to the Broadway/Weidler exit for local access
