Dr. Jake Becker, DMD
Dr. Becker was born in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky, where he lived until the age of seven. He then spent the rest of his childhood moving around the United States. He grew up in California, Hawaii, Idaho, and Arizona. Dr. Becker went to Arizona State University and received his B.S degree in Biology. After graduating from ISU, he went to dental school at Oregon Health Sciences University, where he received his D.M.D. While living in Portland, Dr. Becker fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and his wife, Melissa.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Becker traveled to Burns, Oregon, to practice rural and community health-based dentistry. Although his time in Burns was relatively short, he found his dental care experiences to be extensive and rewarding. Dr. Becker moved back to Portland in 2007 and has practiced as an associate at Downtown Dental Associates ever since.
Dr. Becker feels privileged to be in a profession that allows him the opportunity to positively affect the health and lives of people. Every dental patient is an individual with a specific set of needs. Dr. Becker takes pride in his ability and willingness to actively listen to each of his patients in order to provide the highest level of quality care possible. Dr. Becker practices comprehensive dentistry, including endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, removable dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridge, implant-retained restorations, oral sedation, and preventative care. Dr. Becker strives to provide quality, compassionate and comfortable care to all of his patients.
Dr. Becker is a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, and American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
Dr. Becker currently resides in Vancouver Washington with his wife, Melissa, daughter Sadie, son Levi, and twin boys Benjamin and Samuel.
Dr. Stephen J. Persichetti, DDS
Dr. Persichetti graduated from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland. After graduation, he traveled to Portland to receive advanced training in general dentistry in a residency program at the Oregon Health Sciences University. After completing a year of residency, Dr. Persichetti joined the faculty at the Oregon Health Science University School of dentistry. He has been an associate professor since 1985 and joined Downtown Dental Associates in 1997. Dr. Persichetti continues to teach at the dental school one and a half days per week.
Dr. Persichetti’s practice philosophy is based upon a desire to blend art, science and intuition to meet the treatment needs and personal concerns of his patients. His approach to dental practice is based upon an uncompromising concern and personal commitment to the welfare of his patients, dedication to quality, and innovation. Through his commitment to lifelong learning, Dr. Persichetti has come to understand when to embrace the latest dental technologies and when to choose the tried and true methods. His practice emphasizes all aspects of adult and children’s dentistry.
Dr. Stephen J Persichetti is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. He is past president of the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry and served on many of the Academy of General Dentistry’s councils. He is affiliated with Donated Dental Services and treats many patients who could not otherwise afford dental care. Dr. Persichetti makes his home in Raleigh Hills with his two daughters.
Dr. Ryan Voge, DMD
Dr. Ryan Voge is a native Oregonian. He grew up in Hillsboro and went on to attend the University of Oregon where he also competed in track and field. After graduation, he returned to Portland and earned his Doctorate at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry, graduating with Honors and Clinical Honors.
Dr. Voge is dedicated to life-long education and consequently spends a significant amount of time taking continuing dental education. He believes strongly in blending modern technology with established principles of dental medicine to provide quality evidence-based dentistry.
Dr. Voge is a past President of the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry, an organization composed of more than 900 general dentists from across the state. He has also served as an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the OHSU School of Dentistry. Currently, he is a member of the Spear Portland Study Club, the Sunset Study Club, the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Portland Monthly Magazine has named him a “Top Dentist”.
Dr. Voge lives in Southwest Portland with his wife, two children, their dog and two cats. His interests outside dentistry include running, golf, and gastronomy.
Leanne Stemmer, Office Manager
Leanne was born and raised in Oregon. She has worked in the dental field since 1995, and has been at DDA since 1999. Leanne started her dental career as a dental assistant, and has been the office manager at DDA since 2005.
She enjoys the diversity of her position and being able to help our patients either during treatment or after. Leanne also enjoys working with the great doctors at DDA. They genuinely care about their patients, as if they are their own loved ones.
When you come to DDA, you are greeted with a knowledgeable, caring, and informative dental team. The team enjoys giving excellent, quality care to our patients. Downtown Dental Associates also work together to give patients personalized attention. This means whatever patients individual needs are, the entire team is there for them, from check in to check out.
Leanne has been married to her husband Bobby since 2004. They rescued a 7-year-old beagle mix (Allie) in October of 2014 from Oregon Dog Rescue. She is a little spoiled. In her free time, Leanne enjoys cooking, working out, golfing, traveling, as well as spending time with friends and family.
Sarah Voge, RDH
Sarah graduated from Oregon State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Fisheries Science. Then she decided to go back school to pursue Dental Hygiene at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas. Sarah graduated from the Dental Hygiene program in 2009.
Being a dental hygienist was a natural fit for Sarah because she loves getting to know patients and helping them achieve better dental health. Her goal is to provide gentle and thorough care to all her patients. Sarah tries to educate without lectures and aim to make coming to the dentist a pleasurable experience.
Sarah grew up in Lincoln City, Oregon. After college in Corvallis, she moved to Austin, Texas for 9 years and moved back to Oregon a couple of years ago to be closer to family. Sarah and her husband Kyle have 2 young children, Natalie and Lucas. In her free time, she likes running and spending time with family.
Jamie Pike, RDH
Jamie graduated from Pine Manor College in Massachusetts in 1993 with a BA in Biopsychology and a minor in visual arts. In 2000, she graduated from OHSU with a BS in Dental hygiene. Since that time, Jamie has maintained a fulfilling career in Portland.
Her passion for dental hygiene centers around my connection to each patient while providing consistent, quality oral healthcare especially as it relates to overall health.
Jamie is a native Portlander and enjoys much of what makes our city unique. She enjoys trail runs through Forest Park, our walkable urban center, the Arts and the ever-evolving restaurant scene.
Jamie is thrilled to be part of Downtown Dental Associates and looks forward to meeting you.
Barbi Raihala, RDH
Barbi was born and raised in Oregon. She began her dental career as an office manager for an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Soon after, she was accepted into the Mt. Hood College Dental Hygiene Program where she graduated with honors. Barbi has been a long time patient here at DDA and she is very excited to now be working alongside such caring and professional colleagues.
What Barbi loves most about her career is developing a long term relationship with patients, and working together to help them learn what is best for their oral health.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, whether it’s playing board games on a Friday night, or watching them play at one of their many sporting events. Outside of family, Barbi loves golfing, watching football, hiking, working out and traveling with siblings and very close friends.
Ingrid Adeogun, RDH
Ingrid is a native Oregonian! She grew up in Canby and enjoyed her small-town upbringing. After high school, Ingrid attended Pacific Union College located in Napa, California. After completing her pre-requisites there (and meeting her husband), she returned to Portland and obtained her Dental Hygiene degree from Carrington College.
Dental Hygiene has been such a rewarding career for Ingrid. Educating patients can be made fun and interactive! She believes improvements and sustained oral care should be celebrated. Ingrid also enjoys making patients feel at ease with any procedure. The team at DDA makes all the difference!
Outside the office, Ingrid enjoys playing indoor soccer, riding bikes, and exploring the PNW! Ingrid and her husband enjoy traveling, hanging out with their Corgi (Marley), and their newest roommate, Amelia (their daughter).
Emily Mayo, RDH
Emily was born in Northern Michigan and ventured out to the beautiful pacific northwest after graduating from Ferris State University in 2006. She had always wanted to be a dental hygienist from a young age.
Emily is very close to her sister who is also a dental hygienist. They mostly talk about teeth and child-rearing these days. She is happy to be in a profession where she can connect with her patients and teach them tips and tricks to keeping their mouths healthy. Her motto is: “gentle yet thorough.”
Emily is taking coursework to become a certified End of Life Doula. Travel is a huge part of Emily’s life and she has visited many different countries. A fun fact: she met her husband (Justin) while on an airplane. They later went on to get engaged during a three-month extended travel trip through Europe and Central America. They now reside in SW Portland and have two young children. When she’s not in the dental office, you can find Emily doing a myriad of different things including family dance parties in the living room, taking a tap class, singing, decorating a cake, making fun forts, or packing for the next camping trip.
